Study Group’s first cohort of Cardiff University International Study Centre students successfully progress to degree programmes
Study Group’s Cardiff University International Study Centre (ISC) has recently seen its inaugural cohort of students successfully complete their studies.
With 88% of Cardiff University ISC students who started their course in September 2020 and completed this June now being offered a place on an undergraduate degree at Cardiff University this September, learners are now preparing for the next step in their education journey. They will join a wide variety of degree programmes including Medicine, Dentistry, Pharmacy, Music, Geography, Engineering, Physics and Business, among others.
Professor Rudolf Allemann - Pro-Vice-Chancellor of International and Student Recruitment, and Head of the College of Physical Sciences and Engineering at Cardiff University -congratulated both students and staff at the Cardiff University ISC on the success of the first year of operation:
“The students have commenced and completed their studies in the most challenging of circumstances, with some being taught purely online, while others spent a significant proportion of their first time in the UK studying remotely in lockdown conditions.
“The Cardiff University ISC staff have embraced the challenge of combining in-person and virtual teaching, across multiple time-zones, and have been rewarded with pleasing student assessment results.
“Students progressing onto their degree programmes are now eagerly awaiting the start of term to experience all that Cardiff University has to offer.
“We very much look forward to welcoming them into our student body.”
Dr Mark Cunnington, Chief Operating Officer for the UK and Europe at Study Group shares his congratulations:
“On behalf of everyone at Study Group, we would like to take this opportunity to congratulate our first cohort of Cardiff ISC students on their academic successes.
“We appreciate that the past year has been challenging due to COVID-19 restrictions and the need to adapt to new ways of studying, with a mix of online and face-to-face course delivery. However, we are delighted to see that our students have thrived in difficult circumstances and are able to meet their progression requirements.
“We wish our students every success for the future.”
Study Group student Noor talks about progressing to study at Cardiff University:
“I am very excited to embark on this new chapter of my life. I had an amazing experience with the ISC during my foundation year as I felt that the support I received well exceeded my expectations.
“I am very thankful to the ISC team for equipping me with the skills necessary to succeed in my degree and I am very much looking forward to progressing to Cardiff University.”
Professor Allemann added:
“The partnership between Cardiff University and Study Group continues to go from strength to strength with colleagues across all teams working collaboratively and collectively to facilitate a joined-up approach to student recruitment.
“The success of the Cardiff University ISC has a direct impact on the undergraduate recruitment goals at Cardiff University and we are excited to see what the future holds.”
