  • New facilities designed to support study, collaboration and student experience and strengthen employability-focused learning in the UK capital

Study Group and the University of Huddersfield are expanding the University of Huddersfield – London campus with the addition of a new floor at the Colour Works building, located at Sugar House Island in London, UK.

The expansion follows two successful intakes during the London campus’ first academic year (2025/26), with postgraduate programmes already underway in subjects including Management, International Business, Computing and Marketing.

The additional space comes as the London campus prepares to welcome the first undergraduate cohort of students in September 2026, a planned expansion that has been accelerated to accommodate strong demand. Students from the first cohorts are already benefiting from studying in a highly connected London environment, with access to industry networks and career opportunities that support strong employability outcomes.

The new floor will offer a range of modern facilities designed to support both academic study and student life, including five large classrooms, dedicated study areas with an IT suite, and collaborative learning spaces equipped with digital teaching tools. Students will also benefit from group work booths, informal drop-in spaces, a student common room, and kitchen facilities.

Further enhancements across the campus include newly developed prayer rooms on the existing fifth floor, as well as access to a shared common room in the nearby Ink House building, providing additional communal space for students.

The expansion reflects the continued growth of the University of Huddersfield – London and its commitment to delivering a high-quality student experience in one of the world’s most dynamic and globally connected cities. It also reinforces the partnership’s focus on preparing students for successful careers through a combination of academic excellence, industry relevance and an enriched student experience focussed on employability.

Professor Melinda Tan MBE, Chief Academic Officer and General Manager UK & Europe at Study Group, said: “This expansion marks an important step in the continued growth of the University of Huddersfield – London. As we welcome more students and prepare for the initial undergraduate intake in September 2026, it is essential that we continue to invest in high-quality facilities that support both academic success and student wellbeing. We are creating an environment where students can build the skills, confidence and connections needed for their future careers. This new space will enhance the overall experience for our students and reflects our long-term commitment to London as a key study destination.”

Penny Cameron, Managing Director at Vastint UK, developer and owner of Sugar House Island, said: “Growing our education community has been a priority for us over the last couple of years, following increasing demand for well-connected, high quality education space in prime locations, which is exactly what the Island offers to students. It’s rewarding to see how the University of Huddersfield – London has made Sugar House Island its home over the last year and is already expanding its campus here on the Island. Our integrated business and education community provides students direct links to industry, alongside a wide range of amenities and experiences.”
